Swisscom Ltd.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Multifunctional zones for agile teams.

Swisscom is the leading ICT company in Switzerland. As an early adopter of forward-looking working methods, Swisscom is organized in an agile way and relies on interdisciplinary teams.

In order to be able to offer attractive and multifunctional areas in the corridors, which have an appealing effect and support creativity, exchange and identification, the interior design is at the service of Swisscom's DNA. The use of the building's circulation areas is varied and ideally reflects Swisscom's vision by drawing on the company-wide "Future of Work" playbook.

The Swisscom headquarters in Worblaufen was designed by the architects Indermühle Architekten AG (now IAAG Architekten AG) and realized between 1995 and 1999.

The architecture is characterized by a clear, geometric design language that dispenses with value judgments and accents. Inside the building there are 18 individually designed inner courtyards, which are conceived as "closed gardens". This design gives the office spaces a distinctive identity and brings daylight into the interior of the building.

The resulting niches accentuate the clear architecture to support orientation and promote an agile way of working. Niches have been created for interaction, retreat and collaboration. Natural materials and color accents ensure a greater sense of well-being in the rather restrained architecture. Acoustic elements promote an inspiring working environment.
